1. About Qonoma Revise AI

Qonoma Revise AI is an educational technology service provided by Qonoma Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registered in England and Wales. It is designed to help GCSE science students build long-term retention through AI-generated multiple-choice questions delivered over WhatsApp based on space-repetition learning models.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, logging in, or submitting study notes, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not sign up or use the services. If you are under 16 years of age, you cannot accept these terms alone; a parent or guardian must provide consent.

3. Age & Parental Consent Requirements

This app is intended for GCSE students. In compliance with the UK GDPR and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Children's Code:

  • Minimum Age: You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform.
  • Under 16 Rule: If you are under 16, your parent or guardian must actively authorize your signup by submitting their contact information during your onboarding step. An notification is sent to verify consent.
  • Parent Rights: Parents have the right to request data inspection, account pause, or total data deletion of their child's records at any time.

4. Free Trial, Coupons & Stripe Subscriptions

Free Trial Period

All new student profiles receive a 28-day free trial when they verify their phone number via SMS OTP. There is no requirement to enter any credit or debit card details to start.

After the 28 days elapse, note submissions are paused (the account becomes "soft-locked"), but no automatic charges are applied.

Coupons

Admin coupon codes can extend trial limits or deduct subscription rates. Coupons carry no cash value and are restricted to one-time use per student.

Stripe Subscriptions

Subscriptions provide uninhibited access following the trial. Billing is processed securely by Stripe. Qonoma does not store card information. Cancel anytime via the settings billing portal.

5. The Service & AI Integration

Our platform matches GCSE lesson texts to the AQA Combined Science syllabus and compiles multiple-choice questions via Azure-hosted LLMs.

We reserve the right to deploy updates, alter question structures, or patch system frameworks. We will supply at least 30 days' notice prior to withdrawing major functionalities.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Qonoma Revise AI strictly for educational study. You must not:

  • Upload files containing another individual's personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Submit offensive, vulgar, abusive, or copyright-infringing content.
  • Use scrapers, spiders, bots, or scripts to copy questions or exhaust APIs.
  • Attempt to compromise security safeguards or access other users' accounts.

7. Your Content & Processing License

You own all intellectual property rights for the notes and files you upload. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license to store, parse, and generate questions from your text. We do not use your notes to train foundational public LLMs or for marketing campaigns.

8. AI Disclaimer (Study Aid Only)

⚠️ AI Limitations Notice: Quiz questions and syllabus classifications are generated by artificial intelligence. While we use fine-tuned prompts, they may occasionally contain factual errors or incorrect answers. Qonoma is an unofficial study aid. It is not approved by exam boards (such as AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and is not a substitute for school textbook materials or teacher guidance.

9. WhatsApp Quiz Delivery

Quizzes are delivered using Twilio WhatsApp APIs. We schedule quizzes at 1, 3, 7, 21, and 60 days following note submission. You can toggle WhatsApp delivery off inside the settings dashboard or reply with the word STOP at any time.

10. UK GDPR Rights & Permanent Deletion

We align our policies with the UK Data Protection Act 2018. You possess the right to:

  • Inspect and download all database information stored under your profile.
  • Opt-out of automation algorithms or WhatsApp transmissions.
  • Self-Service Erasure: You can permanently wipe your account and all associated notes, answers, and logs by clicking the "Delete Account" option in your Settings panel. This is an immediate, GDPR-compliant hard delete.

Data Retention: Inactive accounts (no login within 1 year) are automatically flagged and queued for complete permanent deletion after a 14-day notice email.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law (including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015), Qonoma Ltd and its developers are not liable for:

  • Losses due to incorrect answers generated by AI.
  • Twilio delivery delays or mobile network downtime.
  • Exam outcomes or GCSE grade changes.

Our total liability for any claim is capped at £50 or the total subscription fees you paid us in the previous 12 months (whichever is greater).
